The Northeast Region wrapped up the third qualifier of the 2020 season on Lake Hernando this past Sunday, 05/31/2020. With 12-teams participating from the Central and Northeast Regions, teams weighed just over 50 fish for the day weighing more 100 lbs.
The fat sack of the day was caught by the Marion County Bassmaster team of Jacob Dorland and Chris Beeman. Their sack included 5-fish that weighed 17.44 lbs and included the Big Fish of the tournament that weighed 8.61 lbs. Dorland said they had to “…grind it out flipping mud mats around the lake all day to get those five bites.” In second place, the Marion County Bassmaster team of Chad Dorland (Jacob’s dad) and Andrew White weighed 5-fish that went 13.65 lbs. In third was Jason Ward and Bob Heron of Bassmasters of Gator Country with 5-fish that weighed 12.43 lbs.
Congratulations to all of our anglers and thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the FBN Northeast Region. Make sure to mark your calendar for the next Northeast Region Team Tournament, July 27th on Orange/Lochloosa Lakes from Marjorie Rawlings Boat Ramp in Cross Creek.
