Florida BASS Nation Central Region Pro Am and Team Qualifiers # 1

Thanks to everyone that could participate this weekend for our first Central Region Pro Am and Team Qualifiers of 2025 and a big congratulations to all our winners.

On Saturday for the season’s first Pro Am, there were three ongoing bass tournaments and even more pleasure boaters and jet skiers. Everyone cooperated and showed good sportsmanship as well as good manners and everything went off without any major complications!

Sunday’s first Team Trail Qualifier of the season, was better traffic wise, but the weather gave us a run for our money. Thanks for everyone who hung in there. Our first double digit bass was brought to the scale by Jayson Hooven and David Beard weighing in at 10.07 pounds. Jayson claims to have caught it, but David has neither confirmed or denied, lol. I’m sure Jayson did catch it based upon his excitement when I spoke with him Sunday afternoon, great job Jayson.

Also, outstanding job to all regarding fish care, we had zero dead fish on both days of tournaments. Please keep fish care in mind as the weather / water temperature increases. Effective this year, dead fish penalties across the board are a half pound (.50 pounds) for each dead fish. Let’s keep up the great fish care, way to go guys!

Onward and upward as we go to the Harris Chain of Lakes for our next round of Central Region Qualifiers,  Pro Am #2 – February 22, 2025 and Team Qualifier #2 – February 23, 2025, both are out of the Venetian Gardens ramp.

To qualify for the State Championships to be held on Lake Okeechobee all competitors, Anglers, Co-Anglers and Teams, must finish in the to 85% in the points standings at the completion of the Qualifiers. The Team State Championship will be on September 13-14, 2025 out of Clewiston and the Pro Am State Championship will be on November 1-2, 2025 out of Scott Driver Park.

We hope to see you all there and please spread the word! As you can see below, our payouts are pretty darn good, paying one (1) spot for each seven (7) entries. All tournaments will be open for registration on Fishing Chaos approximately one (1) month prior to the tournament. If you have any problems getting registered, don’t hesitate to contact Bobby Watson, State Vice President, bwatson.fbn@gmail.com or (305) 903-8235.
