With a cold front coming through Hendry County on Sunday morning, the winds were howling and the temperatures were dropping, but the bass were cooperating for most team. Registrations through Fishing Chaos was simple and easy once everyone created their initial profile. The weigh in through Fishing Chaos went off without a hitch and the “Live Leaderboard” worked exactly as promised. No one running the tournament had to handle any money and all funds were in the FBN South Region bank account within minutes of the registration. Going forward there are a few more things that will be utilized to make every tournament more efficient and streamlined.
There were three (3) bags brought to the scale in excess of twenty (20) pounds with the winning bag at 23.14 pounds. The big fish also came to play with the biggest of the tournament weighing in at 8.15 pounds along with some sevens and sixes as well. We had two (2) South Regions Teams participating, the Bass Rattlers Association and the Royal Palm Bassmasters. The total turnout was disappointing with only thirteen (13) teams in the initial qualifier. The top nine (9) teams have partially qualified by finishing in the top 70% and still need one (1) more tournament to fully qualify for the State Championship in September on the St. Johns River out of Palatka. The next South Region Qualifier will be on April 22, 2023 out of Clewiston. Registrations will open on Fishing Chaos approximately two (2) weeks prior to the tournament. The standings are below and attached.
Congratulations to all that competed and thank you for coming out and congratulation to the top finishers.
