The day on the lake was pretty good for the most part, until about the last hour or so when the storm blew through. Plenty of wind and rain for the ride in for the weigh in. Only one (1) mishap on the day, Clay Farmer and Rick Carl from the Top Water Bass Assassins had engine problems, luckily John Hendry and Bobby Watson were in a close proximity and picked up Clay with his bag of fish. We had twelve (12) teams competing and they brought thirty-nine (39) fish to the scale for a total of one hundred four point one (104.10) pounds, an average of two point sixty-seven (2.67) pounds each. ALL fish were released alive. There were six (6) different Clubs represented, Bass Rattlers Association, Florida Trails, Limiters, Royal Palm Bassmasters and Winterhaven Lunker Lovers.
The next and final South Region Team Qualifier will be on August 27, 2022 out of Clewiston. We look forward to seeing everyone there. Also, the next and final Pro Am Qualifier will be on August 20, 2022 out of Okeechobee City (Scott Driver Park). These two (2) tournaments will be the final qualifiers in the South Region to make the State Championships. The Team Championship will be on September 24 & 25, 2022 out of Okeechobee City (Scott Drive Park) and the Pro Am Championship will be on October 22 & 23, 2022 on the St. Johns River out of Palatka.
