Robert Bakewell of Winter Springs Bassmasters took the Central Region’s 2nd Pro-Am Qualifier of the season with four fish that weighed 18.08 lbs. He also had the big bass of the tournament that weighed 8.45 lbs and was one of two trophy catch fish caught in the tournament. Robert said he caught his fish on spinnerbaits and his custom made BNB Jigs fishing lilly pads and reeds. Mark Beasley of Tuskawilla Bassmasters ended up in second, in the Boater Division with 17.92 lbs. Mark also had a 8.08 lb trophy catch. Dan Carrigan of Citrus County Bassmasters placed third with 16.13 lbs.
Hayden Finnigan of NCBA Bassmasters took first place in the Co-Anglers Division with 9.68 lbs. Hayden said two of his fish came off beds and the others all came from fishing open water hydrilla matts and shell beds with spinner baits and a KVD 1.5 crankbait. Tom Bateman of Lake County Bassmasters came in second place with 9.22 lbs. Scott Wise, also of Lake County Bassmasters took third with 8.45 lbs. The Big Bass of the Co-Anglers Division was caught by James Rose of Winter Haven Lunker Lovers and weighed 2.81 lbs.
Congrats to all of those who earned checks and thanks to everyone for coming out to fish the Central Region. The next Pro-Am Tournament for the Central Region will be April 14, 2019 from Southport Ramp on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes. There will also be a Central Region Team Series event the day before, April 13, 2019 on the Kissimmee Chain from Southport Ramp.
